Trader Joe’s Haul January 14, 2019
Hi everyone! Happy Monday! It has been a crazy few months around here. The holidays completely wore me out but I am back and feeling better than ever. I am excited about the content I have planned for 2019 , and now that Niko is almost one I feel like I am finally getting a handle on everything mama-related. It’s like adjusting to a whole new life, and now since we are sleeping more I am able to really start feeling like myself. This post is a long time coming since I am and have been a HUGE Trader Joe’s fan for a while now. Over a year ago we had one open about 10 minutes from our house so all of our grocery shopping happens here now. Every Sunday, we usually make a trip to get everything we need. Quick, healthy and easy meals are definitely what I gravitate towards nowadays and Trader Joe’s makes it easy to feel good about the things I am eating every week! I also use their fruits and veggies to make Niko’s foods for the week. Keep in mind I try to maintain a high protein low carb diet so a lot of my choices are based on that mentality!
First and foremost, I want to talk about their flower collection. So many options, and in affordable bundles so you can mix them up! Seasonally I love what they offer, it’s great to be able to pick these up before holidays as a housewarming gift. I always end up leaving with fresh blooms and succulents!
Cauliflower & Broccoli Patties + Carrot & Pea Patties – Love these as a low carb option! I usually have these as a snack and they are so delicious, they don’t fall apart like other patties do.
Turkey Burgers– These are amazing, high in protein and low in carb. I love making my own turkey burgers but these are just as good. They are also approved by my nutritionist!
Shredded Hash Browns– We are HUGE breakfast people in our home and these are a perfect side for Saturday and Sunday morning eggs!
Mandarin Chicken & Veggie Fried Rice– This combo is Ryan’s favorite! We love orange chicken from Panda Express but it’s SOOO bad for you. This recipe cuts down half the fat & carbs and even comes with the orange sauce. A must have- definitely replaces unhealthy Chinese food takeout!
Fat Free Feta– I love this feta! Coming from a Greek , I promise I know what I am talking about. Perfect for salads or omelettes.
Organic Eggs– Like I said we go crazy with breakfast in my home so eggs are our specialty. I love these organic eggs, and when you crack them the yolk is such a rich organgey yellow color. So good!!
Ezekiel Bread– I love this bread! It’s on the healthier side so it’s very firm but it’s perfect for sandwiches and again let’s you remain low carb.
Bagel Slims– These everything bagel slims are awesome for quick sandwiches. Toast them up for even tastier sandwiches.
Caesar Salad– This is by far my favorite salad mix. I mentioned this in my IG stories that after pregnancy I became obsessed with caesar salads, and this was the mix I would buy all the time. It comes with croutons, parmesan and dressing. I just add in chopped chicken or turkey and it’s perfect for lunch.
Organic Broccoli- I love buying organic , and this broccoli is always on our shopping list.
Gluten Free Pumpkin Pancake Mix- If you’re a basic pumpkin everything lover like me, you’ll love this mix. It’s so delicious and has the slightest hint of pumpkin.
Veggie Flaxseed Chips- These chips are delicious and don’t even taste like a “healthy alternative.” Usually healthy chips don’t taste as good but these are awesome.
Pineapple Salsa- This salsa is amazing, and paired with the veggie chips it’s a great combo.
Everything Seasoning- Every TJ’s addict knows this seasoning is a must in every home. Perfect for avocado toast, or just to season a sandwich for that extra flavor.
Spicy Brown Mustard- I love spicy brown mustard and this one does not disappoint!
Organic Coconut Oil- I use this to cook with , and I also use it to pop popcorn.
Inner Peas- Great healthy snack to keep around the house to help when you’re craving something salty.
Just Chicken Pieces- I use this for my salads and it’s all perfectly cooked white meat chicken. Perfect if you’re trying to eat healthy and maintain a high protein diet.
Uncured Chicken Hot Dogs- I eat these a few times a week. So much healthier than beef hot dogs and the protein content is high, and the carbs are low.
Oven Roasted Turkey (Applegate)- I love this sliced turkey, especially because it’s free of antibiotics and preservatives. It is a little on the expensive side but in my opinion tastes better.
Chicken Sausage- My favorite breakfast sausage! This flavor is so good.
