Peloton FAQ & My Thoughts May 29, 2020
One of my favorite purchases this year has been my peloton bike. If you follow along on Instagram, you’ll see me posting regularly about how much I love my bike and my workouts. Since I have gotten a ton of questions about it I thought I would compile them all in a post and talk about everything. I have had the bike for almost two months now and I have been using it as much as I can when I have time to myself. I originally ordered at the beginning of our stay at home order and I am so glad I did because now I have heard that the wait time is much longer!
One of the most common questions I get asked is if I was into spinning prior to purchasing this bike. The answer is no. I took maybe 20 spin classes my entire life, and was never really for- or against it. The peloton bike however , is a completely different experience. If you are someone who has young children at home, or even someone who lacks motivation to actually drive to the gym , this may be a solution for you.
I found that after two children my time is always spoken for. I can’t plan ahead, I can’t prep- because every single day is different. Having a stationary bike that is always there whenever I get free time has been such a huge help!
FAQ
Q: Who is your favorite instructor?
A: I love Leanne Hainsby. She is so upbeat and fun , really gets a good workout in. My favorite classes with her are the intervals and arms rides. My second favorite is Jess King.
Q: Is the bike worth the investment?
A: YES! I purchased this bike with the thought that if I didn’t like it- I would just return it within the 30 day trial window. I obviously did not do that because I do love it. Everyone I know who owns one has not regretted it, there is definitely a reason for that! You can also split up the payments if it seems too much to pay off at once.
Q: Do you have a code you can share with us?
A: Yes, you can get $100 off with code: Z5WEBZ
Q: Is there a fee monthly?
A: Yes there is. Similar to a gym membership you are paying a monthly fee to be able to use the classes.
Q: What headphones do you use? Is it easy to set up?
A: I use these headphones, and the bike comes with a heart rate monitor which connects to the bike as well. It actually comes pre-assembled which is great, and it has wheels so it is easy to move. Since Covid is currently happening they could not bring our bike inside or install the pedals, that was something my husband had to help with.
Q: What is your username , I want to follow you!
A: Tinylittletree – yes, please come follow along!!
Q: What are your favorite features of the bike, and what do you dislike about it?
A: I love how quiet it is, I am not waking anyone up when I jump on- especially at night. It’s completely silent (unless you’re out of breath-haha!) I also love the monitor, completely interactive, easy to use and touch screen enabled. My least favorite thing about the bike is the fact that you can’t pause a class. With young children I am often jumping off to help someone, or because someone wakes up from a nap and it’s hard to jump back in when the class is continuing to go on. I wish there was a pause option!!
Q: Have you lost any weight from using it?
A: I have! The first month I lost 4 lbs and I am continuing to lose weight gradually. I am down a total of 6 lbs so far. I am still breastfeeding and this has always made me hold onto a few pounds- so I know more will come off once I am completely done weaning.
Q: Is it just cycling? I don’t really enjoy cycling that much to buy an entire machine for it.
A: No, there are so many options of classes! They have classes that are based around strength, bodyweight, yoga, meditation, running etc. There are so many options and everything can be accessed through their app!
Please let me know if you have any other questions!!
