Nursing & Baby Must-Haves August 28, 2019
Good afternoon friends! Life has been a whirlwind to say the least- being pregnant and chasing a toddler brings on exhaustion like I never imagined but I truly am trying to enjoy every second of it. It’s crazy to think that I will be doing this all over again in a few short months (4 to be exact). One of the hardest things to think about when approaching into motherhood is definitely breastfeeding. I got so many questions about it when I was in the thick of it- and I found it so empowering to connect with other Moms about something we’ve all gone through. As Moms we want to provide for our children and often times we feel like failures if we aren’t producing a lot of milk, or if we decide not to breastfeed. I exclusively pumped for 4 months with Niko because he couldn’t latch due to his tongue & lip tie. This worked for us and I was just happy to be providing to my baby boy. I am thankful that I was able to do it for the first few months of his life, and understand how challenging the process is. Whatever route you end up taking I truly believe that FED is best. Did you know that August is National Breast Feeding Awareness Month? This is the perfect time to promote baby-friendly initiatives, build awareness on nursing, and support new moms in your community. Did you know it’s not just babies who benefit from breastfeeding? When a mother breastfeeds, she reduces her risk of developing ovarian cancer, breast cancer and heart disease. Walmart will be supporting this national event with deals on breast feeding items (i.e. covers, nipple creams, etc.) as well as feeding items (i.e.. breast pumps, bottles, etc). Perfect time to shop if you’re expecting!
A question I often get asked is all about Niko’s baby essentials and the items I personally used to breastfeed/pump. It can be so overwhelming shopping for all things baby and if you don’t have the right products in mind- you could end up wasting a ton of money on things you don’t need. Below I am sharing my favorite items from Walmart for breastfeeding and beyond! Walmart is our go-to place for all things baby. We got most of our gear from there and continue to get all of Niko’s snacks, clothes and toys from here as well. I love that they offer so many brands, and everything is in one place- no need to go to different stores for all the things you need because it’s your one stop shop. All the Mamas out there can relate that shopping can be crazy with kids- being able to go to one place to pick everything up is so important to us.
