Hi everyone! SO excited to be sharing some skincare topics on my blog this month! I get so many questions about my skincare routine, especially now that I am postpartum. My pre-pregnancy skin was always problematic. I always had hormonal breakouts, especially in the chin area. I decided when I became pregnant that I would truly do everything I could to take care of my skin. I have created some tips on how I personally embarked on my skincare journey and I hope this helps you in your personal skincare routines!
Tip#1: Always Remove Your Makeup!
Ladies this is CRUCIAL! Sleeping with a full face of makeup on is so terrible for your skin. Not only are you sleeping with a face full of different products, sweat and impurities, but you’re also not allowing your skin to breathe. Taking off all of your makeup gives your skin a chance to recover, and it also allows your skin to prepare itself for the cleansing process.
Tip#2: Use The Clarisonic Mia 1:
One of the biggest changes I made in my skincare routine is making sure that I use my Clarisonic Mia every single night once I take my makeup off. I really saw a difference in my skin within 10 days of using this device. I used my clarisonic mia as well as the acne cleansing brush head and the pore and blemish cleanser in order to really see a difference in my skin. Clarisonic is the #1 recommended devise by dermatologists, which is so important when making a decision on what is right for you. I personally do not like trying things that are only known because of a social media hype. I like researching my products, and I love using products that are affordable, but can also make a difference in my skin. After just a few weeks of using my clarisonic I saw so many changes in my skin. Here are some of the changes I noticed:
1 WEEK – Skin feels smoother, softer and more refreshed
2 WEEKS – Skin appears more even
4 WEEKS – Pores look smaller and skin feels firmer
I’ve used mine 2x a day and I have just fallen in love with my skin again! I have always been self conscious about my skin, and its texture but with since I started taking better care of it, I am going out with less makeup and really embracing a fresh face with nothing on. You can save 15% of all devices here using the code HERCAMPUS (valid June 1 – July 15)!
Tip#3: Know Your Products & Know Your Skin
This is so important! There are so many products on the market that claim they will help save your skin and completely rid you of any breakouts. It’s important to know what type of skin you have (oily, combination, dry) and find products that are created with your skin type in mind. For instance, something that may work for you, may not work for someone else and vice versa. I tend to have dry skin all year round so I have done my research on which products work best for dry skin. I have tailored my own skincare routine based on what my skin needs. I also think it’s important to look at reviews of products when making your decisions. I am not frugal when it comes to my skin so I am willing to spend good money if the product works well for me. Sephora and Ulta offer reviews on their sites that help you see how others enjoyed the product. It’s not guaranteed you will also feel the same but it is definitely a great starting point!
