My Breastfeeding Journey

February 28, 2020

Good morning guys!! It feels like the past two months have just flown by , and we’re almost in March, can you believe it? I have been deep in the trenches of motherhood and I have gotten so many questions about my breastfeeding experience.

It is very true that everyone’s experience is so different and it’s important to keep that in mind when having a baby and deciding to breastfeed or pump. When I gave birth to my son Niko he never latched. He was diagnosed with a tongue and lip tie shortly after and it made more sense to us why he was having difficulty. At first, I was devastated because the situation was not what I had planned out in my mind. I had this whole idea of what it would be like in my head and even though I did everything I could it wasn’t working. I met with lactation consultants, watched every video on breastfeeding and still it would not happen for us. I ended up pumping for 4 months with Niko, and although it wasn’t what I planned, ultimately I felt like I was doing what was best for us.

Fast forward to my pregnancy with Ari, and it’s such a different experience. She immediately latched before we even left the hospital, it was a much easier process and overall seemed to be the right thing for us this time around. I share my story because I want you all to know that every situation is unique to you and your baby. If you need to formula feed, or pump, or breastfeed because it works for you- then you should do what’s right FOR YOU. There is no right answer. Fed is best.

Coming from both sides I can honestly say that the process of feeding your baby feels very stressful- no matter what you decide. There are so many things to take into consideration. During my first pregnancy and postpartum I didn’t do good research on pumps that would make my life easier.

I used to carry around a pump that needed to be plugged in, there were tons of parts and overall it was very cumbersome. This time around I came across the Elvie. What a life changing product!! You guys know when I find something I love, I want to share it from the rooftops- and this is one of those products.

I am always running around with two kiddos, and doing a million things at once. Having a product that allows me to do all of the things without any wires attached is HUGE! I put the Elvie on in the car, while I’m cleaning, while I’m feeding the baby and even while I’m helping Niko eat his lunch. It’s truly a product that allows you to be hands free as a new mom of two you can’t really find anything better.

Elvie was gracious enough to provide all of my readers with a coupon code for 10% off until Monday, March 2nd! Use code LITTLETREE10 at checkout.

Although the process can seem daunting and scary, finding products that help your process is so important. I’m also here to tell you that you are not alone. No matter what you decide, just do what is right for you and your baby. That’s what’s important throughout the entire process!
