MIY: Holiday Sangria!

December 24, 2010

 Happy Holidays Everyone!

For those of you who know me well, know that I love making sangria, especially on the holidays. It’s a nice reason to get tipsy and enjoy fruit all in one sitting! I was a bartender for over five years and I feel like I have finally gotten my recipe down to a tee! I am going to share with all of you, and remember you can add your own twist on it- remove things as well if you like, it’s all up to you, sangria is great like that, you can make it however you want!

Non- Alcoholic Ingredients: Club Soda, Ginger Ale, Sprite, Orange Juice, Mixed Fruits( clementines, apples, grapes, blueberries, raspberries), Cinnamon Sticks

Alcohol- Grand Marnier, Red Wine(Merlot or Cabernet),Malibu, Disaronno

Directions:

First, cut up all your fruit and have it ready

In this case, I only cut up the apples and clementines and put everything else in whole.

Next- Mix in a shot of each liquor and half a pitcher of wine. I used two wines, so I split the ratio in half until the pitcher was half full- again you can make it as strong as you like.

Add ice, 1/2 cup of OJ, 3/4 cup club soda, 3/4 cup ginger ale into the mixture. (add sprite if desired)

Then add in all your cut fruit, and voila! YOU ARE DONE, put it in the fridge for a few hours and wait for the fruit to soak up the alcohol-a few hours for best results.

Have fun with it, and happy holidays!
