Little Tree Lately October 18, 2012
Reading: Sadly school books are the only thing I have time to read anymore. I have been buried in my textiles book and my math workbook as of late. As tedious as it is, I still love it, and it’s so interesting to keep learning more and more. I can’t hate it, even though sometimes I dread opening up the textbooks to study. I know in the end it’s all going to help me become more knowledgeable and well rounded. I have also been spending a lot of time reading Women’s Wear Daily. FIT offers free copies on campus but we also have full access to their site without a subscription which is awesome. It’s the best way to stay connected with what’s going on in the industry, they also have an Iphone app which works just as good, you should check it out!
Watching: Not having a lot of time to watch TV nowadays but I did get to watch an awesome documentary called Schmatta. It’s all about the decline of the garment industry in NYC. Extremely interesting if you’re a lover of fashion and storytelling, there’s so much old footage of old New York, it’s pretty amazing.
Thinking about: How much I need sleep yet I tend to stay up until about 2-3 in the morning doing work. I swear most of my best work comes in the middle of the night. I can function better when I know that I am not missing anything, during the day there’s so many distractions…at night, it’s just me and my computer.
Anticipating: HALLOWEEENIE. I just got my costume in the mail this week, and it’s PERFECT! It’s bright and obnoxious, and I look like a candy cane. It’s only two weeks away too, it’ll be here before you know it!
Wishing: I could skip school and work throw a backpack on and flee the country for a little while. I miss traveling so much, and I am already thinking about places I want to visit this year. The possibilities are endless and I definitely miss it like crazy. Once I get more time on my hands, it’s the first thing I plan on doing..I don’t care if I have to go alone, it’s happening.
Feeling: Slightly overwhelmed but overall happy. Life is good, and I feel great. I am busting my butt in every possible way, but I finally feel like I am exactly where I need to be.
Thanks to Danielle for inspiring these posts with her original series.
