How To Deal With Postpartum Hair Loss & Thinning

March 17, 2021

Hi everyone! If you’re here , it’s because you have probably had a baby, and are dealing with some postpartum thinning/hair loss. You could also be here because you find yourself pulling out more hair than usual, and your hair feels brittle and thin. Either way- welcome and I hope this post is a guiding light for you to find little but effective ways to combat these problems!

Postpartum hair loss is hardly talked about but it is something extremely normal in the postpartum process. When I was pregnant, my hair was glowing and radiant, as soon as I stopped breastfeeding & taking my prenatal vitamins, I started noticing a lot of breakage, and just overall dullness to my hair. I also noticed tons of baby hairs in the front of my hairline which is the worst part of this! Whatever the case may be- or whatever you may be dealing with, just remember it is temporary and there are many ways to combat these problems.

Here are my tried and true solutions to thinning/postpartum hair loss.

First and foremost you’re going to need to up your game when it comes to products. The products you use in your hair are so important in this process. I switched shampoo & conditioner and started using this LP duo and have seen a HUGE change. Both have over 1,000 reviews and my hair just feels better using these products. I was also recommended this Olapex mask by my hairdresser and it has really made my hair healthier from all of the blonde I had it in this summer. I use this mask 2x a week and rinse off in the shower. My favorite part of my hair secrets definitely has to be the XFUSION keratin hair fibers. What this does essentially is allow you to fill in the bald spots in your hairline.

Check out my before and after below- such a great transformation, and it is SO easy to use. It comes out like a powder, and you put a little on your hair, it stays all day and fills in all of the gaps!

Next- it’s time to talk supplements! I swear by these supplements and I truly feel like they have made all the difference. I started taking collagen and hair vitamins as soon as I was done breastfeeding and although it took a few weeks, I truly feel a difference in my hair and skin. Collagen has so many benefits, you can read about them in this article if you’re interested. The hair vitamins I use are the sugarbear hair ones, they taste delicious and they have biotin and other essential vitamins in them that help hairgrowth overall, my hair has grown over 7 inches since I started using them. I use the subscription service on amazon, so they do come out a little cheaper overall. My biggest secret weapon has been my Liquid IV electrolyte packages – when I tell you this has made a HUGE difference, I can’t even explain to you how much more hydrated my body and hair feel. It’s basically a quick way to nourish your body and also make sure you’re absorbing nutrients through hydration. With code LITTLETREE you get free shipping and 25% off the entire site, I promise you , you won’t be disappointed. One stick in 16 ounces of water can provide 2-3 times the hydration of water alone! When your body is hydrated, it just functions better- there is not much to it- it’s a pretty easy concept. I truly think that my entire routine as a whole is what has made this change for me personally.
