As a postpartum mom I am just trying to adjust to this "new normal." It's definitely not easy, but there are so many people facing harder challenges right now, that this seems extremely low on the list and keeps my thoughts in perspective. When we took these photos I was devastated at how I looked. I felt like it didn't even look like me since I haven't yet lost the baby weight. Today I was thinking about patience, and how it helps keep me in sane in every situation. Everything takes time and patience- and remembering that is helpful. As a second-time mom, something I never chose to really discuss previously is my breastfeeding experience. #ad After Niko’s birth, I exclusively pumped because he had a tongue-tie and could not latch at all which was devastating for me. This time around Ari latched right away and I was excited to really experience breastfeeding and I wondered if I would feel that bond the way everyone else described it. It really is a special feeling and I am happy that I am able to experience it. I love that with the Boppy Pillow you can comfortably bond with your baby while breastfeeding or bottle-feeding. All green everything 💚 I'm not going to lie to you guys taking these photos was very tough for me. My photographer @foxandharephoto and I finally met up this week to do one of our monthly shoots. Having had a baby six weeks ago I still don't feel like myself. Pants don't fit, shirts don't fit, things all around just feel different, but I've definitely been here before so I know what to expect. That definitely doesn't make it any easier unfortunately. It is so much harder when you feel like so much of your life is on social media because there's so much more room for self criticism and comparison. I'm very determined to get back to where I was, and feeling healthy again is my priority, along with keeping two babies happy and thriving ❤️ i say this because I know so many of you have felt this too. Or are in it right now. You're not alone. It's a process and it takes time. Sharing my breastfeeding journey on the blog today. This post is a very vulnerable post for me to write especially because this is such a sensitive topic for mothers. I am sharing my experience from both pregnancies and how every pregnancy and every child is so different.
