Hi everyone! I am thrilled to be sharing this post with all of you today, and very happy to be showing you all a piece of where I live! Although I don’t actually live in Highland Park, NJ, I do live quite close so I consider this town is my “downtown.” My town borders Highland Park so it has always felt like home to me. Being pregnant has made me love riding my Schwinn so much more because I am so comfortable riding, and I hardly ever get tired. Working out has been tough because I can’t push myself too hard, but biking is based on my own energy and how much I put into it, so it has really been a release for me. Ryan and I love riding our Schwinns around town and running some of our errands along the way. Here are some of our favorite stops!

The Highland Park farmer’s market takes place every friday from June-December. If you love fresh fruit, vegetables and supporting small businesses this farmer’s market is for you. They have everything from flowers, to homemade donuts, freshly baked bread, and even handmade vendors! Whenever we get a free Friday afternoon we love to ride down and pick up some essentials. This trip included donuts, pumpkins and flowers! Having a big bike basket on days like this comes in handy, but Ryan also usually has a backpack with him, so we can throw everything in there as well! It’s important to be prepared!

I love being able to support local farmers in our area, all while eating healthy organic foods. This is by far my favorite part of this little town! 

In between our days , we love stopping for coffee/drinks at OQ coffee. Nestled in on a side street this coffee shop makes everything from freshly brewed teas, to cappuccinos and everything in between. I love their blood orange iced herbal tea. It has such a unique flavor, and I haven’t tasted anything like it anywhere else! I also love that the interior is so inviting and beautiful, it makes you want to sit and relax for a little while! Over the summer my friend Lena and I would come and sit on our laptops doing work outside. 

Last stop of the day is our favorite ice cream place right down the street. Dairy Deluxe is our favorite ice cream spot in Highland Park. We spend most of our summer nights here with my whole family and although it’s pretty much a hole in the wall, it’s our favorite! The ice cream is delicious, and it’s always nice to see a familiar face when ordering!
