Aren’t long weekends the best? For some reason I really love knowing that most people are spending the holiday weekends seeing their families and relaxing. I did a whole lot of nothing that felt great, and even got some much needed gym time in there. The rest of the month is going to be spent stressing and prepping for my trip to Cyprus. I am so anxious to fly alone for the first time, but really excited to see my family. 

I have been looking forward to this trip for months and I sincerely cannot wait for some time to disconnect from my normal day to day life (and my phone for that matter) and really enjoy myself. I am most excited to visit the tiny village in the mountains where my Mom grew up. It’s been a really long time since I spent some time up there and I have a feeling it’s going to be really therapeutic for me.

In my head I always yearn for a simpler life. A life with less social media and more contact with nature and my surroundings. It’s hard to even think that way since this blog and social networking is a HUGE part of who I am but I do envy those who live their lives disconnected and more at peace. I guess it’s all about finding a balance. I think this trip is going to be exactly what I need to prioritize my life and my goals at this moment in time. 

We all have things to look forward to that take us to the next steps in our lives. I feel like this trip is going to be a much needed getaway for me, and I can’t wait to reflect on everything that has gone on when I am gone.
