Affordable Ways To Make Your Home Cozier September 3, 2020
Is anyone else feeling like the summer just flew by? I cannot believe September is here already. Throughout all of this covid craziness I think as a whole we’ve all realized how important it is to have a comfortable and cozy home space. I don’t think anyone anticipated spending this much time at home but it has truly given me so much time to organize, and rethink spaces around my home and what I want to do with them. Here are a few easy ways to make your home cozy!
CANDLES -We love candles in our home. I have these large hurricane jars with candles on my entry way table and I just love the look they bring to the front of our home. I also love these vintage styled matches. This diffuser is perfect to maintain a perfect but light scent in your home, I love this scent – it makes your house smell just like a hotel!
Artwork + Curtains – Adding curtains has been a game changer for our home. Although it was decorated well prior to adding the curtains on, I do feel like this fully brought the room together. Sheer curtains really brighten any room and also add to the ambiance of your home as a whole. I also love adding neutral artwork to the walls- it doesn’t need to be traditional to make a statement and brighten up the room. I love this canvas duckcloth banner from Truth&Co. I also purchased these beautiful rattan pieces for our kitchen.
Throw Pillows + Blankets -Who knew changing up your pillows would transform your living room? Do you own any pillows that you really just don’t like anymore? Here’s a thought- don’t purchase all new pillows- just get some new pillow cases! We received pillows with our couch when we bought it and I hated the color- they were the ugliest shades of green and brown. I found these gorgeous pillow cases and switched them onto our pillows and I am so happy I did- it has made a world of a difference. I also love this large knitted blanket to add a little texture to the room.
Plants – A simple yet easy way to bring life into your home! I absolutely love having all my plants on our baker’s rack in the kitchen. I decorated it with some fun vintage pieces and also some newer “vintage inspired” pieces. Plants have so many benefits!
They boost mood, productivity, concentration and creativity. Reduce stress, fatigue, sore throats and colds. Clean indoor air by absorbing toxins, increasing humidity and producing oxygen. Add life to a sterile office, give privacy and reduce noise levels.
love the tips and love the paint color on the walls especially the entry way! Having the hardest time picking the right paint colors for my oak floors. Would you mind sharing the colors you chose?!
Hi Samantha! Our walls are all the same color- I just picked one and ran with it! It’s called Owl Gray from Benjamin Moore 🙂
